We’ve rounded up the list of the top 10 Asian restaurants across south London nominated to win regional restaurant in south London at this year’s ARTA awards.

The Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) is a celebration of the UK’s most prestigious Asian restaurants and chefs.

This year’s awards received nominations from over 750,000 customers who voted for over 1,190 restaurants in the UK.

The finalists award include a line-up of restaurants from Lewisham, Greenwich, Bromley, Merton and Fulham.

Here are the ten restaurants nominated to win the regional restaurant award for south London:

  • Himalayan Kitchen, Bromley
  • Pure Indian Cooking, Fulham
  • Quilon, Westminster
  • Saka Maka, Hither Green
  • Indian Restaurant, Lewisham
  • Samrat, Merton
  • The Great Indian Kitchen, Lambeth
  • Village Eat Inn, Greenwich
  • YORI (Piccadilly Circus), Westminster

The winners of this year’s awards are set to be announced at a red carpet event taking place on October 8 in central London, and will be hosted by journalist Samantha Simmonds and magician Paul Martin.

In total, the UK’s curry industry contributes over £4.2 billion annually, with a fifth of the UK’s Asian restaurants dating back to the 1800s.
