A pub saved by its MP and campaigners is celebrating one year of not being a supermarket this weekend.

Pressure from Tooting MP Sadiq Khan and from campaigners including his Conservative election rival Dan Watkins meant the pub was eventually listed as a community asset by the council.
In the event the pub ever does come up for sale, the community will have first refusal to buy it, and will have six months to come up with the funds to do so.

This weekend marks one year since the Wheatsheaf was officially saved, when the planning application to retain the pub, community space and a flat for the landlord was approved.
The pub will be offering discounts throughout the weekend to celebrate.
