Police are appealing for help to find a man charged with burglary after he escaped from a mental health facility earlier today.
Oliver Cooper, of Hilary Avenue, Mitcham, was arrested by police last Friday following a burglary in Pepys Road, Wimbledon.
While in custody, the 33-year-old man was sectioned under the Mental Health Act and taken to a mental health facility in Wandsworth.
It is not known how he managed to escape earlier today.
Police said Cooper is currently Merton’s most wanted man.
A 57-year-old man also arrested in connection with the Pepys Road burglary has been bailed to return to a west London police station in October.
Police are advising the public not to approach Cooper but to call 999 if seen.
